Soluble ST2 protein (sST2) is a biomarker of vascular health, which has diagnostic and prognostic value for various cardiovascular diseases, including coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, atherosclerosis, giant cell arteritis, and acute aortic dissection, Ischemic stroke, obesity and diabetes. Myocardial hypertrophy, fibrosis and ventricular dysfunction are related to abnormal levels of sST2.
