Usage |
Function of Latanoprost
Latanoprost is a new type of phenyl substituted prostaglandin F2α, which is a selective F2α receptor agonist. It is an inactive substance that can quickly penetrate into the cornea and can be hydrolyzed into active free acids in the cornea and plasma. It can increase the outflow of aqueous humor through the corneal layer, and the amount of medication is small, but promotes the outflow of aqueous humor. This product can also smooth the trabecular meshwork structure of the glaucoma patients that are usually blocked.
Latanoprost is a new class of ocular hypotensive drugs developed in recent years and gradually applied to the clinic. Unlike other anti-glaucoma drugs, this product does not change the flow coefficient of the aqueous humor, the production of aqueous humor, and suprascleral venous pressure, but reduces the intraocular pressure by increasing the waterproofing from the uveal scleral passage and outflow.
