Usage

What is theanine

The tea contains 26 kinds of amino acids, 20 of which are protein-related amino acids, called protein amino acids; the other 6 kinds, which have nothing to do with protein synthesis, are called non-protein amino acids. The most important ones in tea are the latter six, and the theanine is the most important of these six, so theanine is called a characteristic amino acid.

The safety of theanine

As early as 1985, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognized theanine and confirmed that synthetic theanine is a generally recognized safe substance (GRAS), and no limit was imposed during use. The safety experiment showed that the acute toxicity of theanine in rats was more than 5g/kg; in the subacute experiment of taking theanine for 28 days (2g/kg per day), the rats did not see any toxic reaction; in the mutagenicity experiment Theanine has not been found to have any mutagenic effects; the bacterial recovery mutation experiment also proved that it did not cause gene mutation. With good safety and stability, theanine has been widely used in foods such as beverages, baked snacks, frozen snacks, etc. In addition, the special properties and biological activity of theanine also make it play an important role in foods.

Function of theanine

1. Lower blood pressure

Theanine can effectively regulate blood pressure. The results of this study have been verified in rats, showing that theanine can reduce high blood pressure.

2. Affect memory

Theanine can also affect people's memory. According to research results, theanine can improve the memory of rats, thereby improving the ability of learning.

3. Relieve stress

Theanine also has the effect of relieving stress. Regular consumption of theanine can relieve stress and make people feel relaxed and happy.

4. Improve concentration

Theanine is an amino acid with a relatively high content in tea. It has a certain sweetness, so it can make the tea taste better and can effectively improve people's attention.

5. Promote absorption

Theanine can also promote the body's gastrointestinal motility, thereby helping digestion. Therefore, for people with indigestion, some theanine can be supplemented.

6, Sedation

Theanine can also have a calming effect and calm the mood. If you are easily irritable or depressed, you can supplement theanine appropriately.
