Candesartan
cilexetil is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, also referred to as
an ARB drug for short. Candesartan cilexetil is currently recognized as a

to the AT1 receptor of vascular smooth muscle, thereby antagonizing the
vasoconstriction effect of angiotensin II and reducing the resistance of
peripheral blood vessels.
